Rebirthing

Rebirthing is a breathing technique that involves controlled, conscious breathing to achieve deep relaxation, clarity of mind and emotional release.
This technique was developed by Leonard Orr in the 1970s and is based on the belief that conscious breathing can release blocked emotions and traumas that accumulate in the body.

A key element of rebirthing is the technique of connected breathing, also known as circular breathing. It involves breathing smoothly without pausing between inhalation and exhalation. This is how we breathed immediately after birth. It was only later that life experiences shaped other, unfavourable breathing habits.

Practising this original way of breathing allows you to experience the connection between your body, mind and emotions. It changes the way you think and perceive reality. This process leads to self-awareness and, consequently, to greater freedom in your everyday choices.

The purpose of practising this method is to:

  1. Emotional cleansing – releasing suppressed emotions that may originate from various moments in life, even from the period of birth.
  2. Improved mental and physical health – regular sessions can help reduce stress, increase energy and improve overall well-being.
  3. Spiritual development – through deep breathing, a person can experience meditative states, connection with the subconscious, and transcendence.

During a rebirthing session, the participant usually lies on a mat, and the entire process is supervised by a therapist who supports them in their breathing and emotional experiences. This is often accompanied by appropriate music and therapeutic instructions.

Contraindications
It is worth noting that rebirthing is not suitable for everyone and is not always recommended for people with serious mental disorders, heart disease or diabetes.

What does a breathing therapy session look like?

The duration of a breathing session is 2.5-3 hours for the first meeting, and 2 hours for subsequent sessions.
It is important to stay well hydrated before and especially after the session. Make sure you have time for yourself.
